Here’s something to do this Easter – Friday to Sunday.
The Taree Easter Powerboat Classic is a non-stop action-packed event that starts on Friday April 19 at 10am and runs through until Sunday April 21 at 5pm.
The powerboat classic is a fantastic weekend event – even for those who have never seen a powerboat race before (or have felt any inclination to watch one). It’s a full weekend of fun on the banks of the Manning River. Drivers come from around Australia (and the world) to battle it out on the water for bragging rights and various prizes, while viewers line the riverbanks through town to watch all the action.
Head along on Friday to watch as racers test and tune their boats out on the water. Friday is quite a relaxed day as everyone gears up and gets ready for a full weekend of racing.
On Saturday and Sunday, pack a picnic and find a spot along the river’s edge between Fotheringham Park and Endeavour Place to watch the dozen or so major and championship races. There are multiple trophies, shields, and cups up for grabs, and countless skilled drivers eager to get their hands on them.
